I am excited to be working on our new community radio station WUBA 88.1 FM in High Springs.
NUBAC, the group that was issued the FCC license a couple of years ago asked me to become a board member and help get the station up and going in High Springs. This will take a lot of work for a new station and in today’s market everyone wants to focus on the internet which I completely understand since that has been what I’ve done for the past 20 years or so…. But I can tell you that the radio station we are working on is to be a community station that focuses on local events within the community of High Springs. Local talent for music, community theater, clubs, churches and other community organizations are going to be the driving force of WUBA 88.1 FM. Interviews with those who have items of interest to the community will be asked to participate in talk shows/ call in question/answer shows and events. The station will talk with local businesses to find out what’s going on with them, schools, elected officials and anyone else in the community that is involved in events of interest.
So you can see we will be very busy getting this off and going over the next few months. I would like to ask for your help since we need to raise $60,000 for our first year’s operating expenses. We can accept your donation at:
wuba881.com or on Facebook at: https://www.facebook.com/pages/WUBA-881/
If you would like to become a monthly sustainer and sign up to give $10, $20, $30 or an amount that works for your budget, this can help keep us going and you can deduct your contribution on your taxes.
If you can help us get the equipment we need to expand our range of signal we would also appreciate your donation. Remember it is fully deductible on your taxes as WUBA 88.1 FM is a 501c3 non-profit organization.
